Enviro Chemie GmbH is a provider of industrial water and wastewater technology. Together with DEG, the company installed a pilot plant in Brazil to recycle industrial wastewater from small and medium-sized companies. Enviro Chemie picks up wastewater from the companies in special transport containers, analyses its chemical composition and treats it accordingly. This substantially reduces the concentration of substances in drinking water and process water that are harmful to human health and the environment. To ensure knowledge transfer with respect to water and wastewater technology, the company is also working with the universities in Sao Paulo and Maringa. In the long term, the local population will benefit from a reduction in health risks and from a cleaner environment. Enviro Chemie meanwhile will have been able to minimise the risks surrounding its entry on the Brazilian market.
