Dialysis technology in Indonesia

To improve the national health system and to establish innovative medical technology in Indonesia, the medical technology manufacturer Fresenius Medical Care and DEG launched a development partnership in 2008. Since then they have fitted out a training centre at the national hospital in Jakarta with dialysis technology. The company is training 20 doctors and 60 nurses, who are issued with a dialysis certificate on successful completion of the course. Fresenius Medical Care has also provided new technology to four hospitals that already have dialysis units and trained staff to use the new equipment. This means that the Indonesian health system now has greater, state-of-the-art technological capacity for dialysis along with pertinent specialist expertise.
