Current Ideas Competitions

In terms of content, our ideas competitions cover two complementary aspects. First, they treat important development related problems by identifying sector-specific issues beforehand. These topics are redefined annually. Further emphasis is placed on calling on the business world to bring in its own ideas in open innovation competitions – independently of specific topics.

Who can put forward measures for the ideas competition? German and other European private-sector companies (including their subsidiaries) as well as local companies in developing, transition and emerging countries if they are registered in the EU or European citizens hold a stake of more than 25% of the local company.
The financial circumstances of the company must ensure the financial viability of the project and safeguard its sustainability. The company assumes responsibility for realisation of the project in terms of in finance, human resources and content. Plaese read the detailed criteria for the assessment of proposals here:

While non-governmental organisations, public institutions, foundations etc., including such from partner countries, are able to participate, they cannot be the sole applicants nor the lead agency in a consortium/working group.

We will keep you informed about our future ideas competitions on this page. For further questions please contact our implementing organisations.
